An Analysis Of The Strategic Impact Of The Campaign In German East Africa During The First World War

Abstract

The First World War is considered to have been the first global war. However with millions of soldiers involved in the European theater, many historians consider the campaigns outside of Europe to have been mere sideshows. The campaign in East Africa that pitted the British, French, Belgians and eventually the Portuguese against the Germans was the longest campaign of the war outlasting the armistice by two weeks.
