Colour Gradient Using Geometric Algebra

Abstract

This paper uses the opportunity given by the formalism of geometric algebras to perform colour image processing by describing one colour with a geometric vector in the 3D space. The paper proposes to manipulate colours in the RGB space where properties such as saturation or luminance can be described with the help of geometric operations. These geometric operations are applied on vectors encoded in G3.A spatial filtering operation on images with this model leads to a colour gradient that can be used for example for colour edge detection.
