Identifying Opportunities in the Development of Ceramic Matrix Composite (CMC) Materials for Armor Applications

Abstract

The purpose of this effort was to summarize the history of ceramic matrix composites (CMCs) for armor and capture the current state of the art in fiber-reinforced CMCs and ceramic fibers to identify potential opportunities future research in CMCs for armor applications.
