Integrated Optoelectronic Networks for Application-Driven Multicore Computing

Abstract

The basic research objective of this Young Investigator proposal has been to determine the best architectural modalities to insert optics technology into future system-on-chip (SoC) platforms of interest to the Air Force, in order to meet projected on-chip data transfer rates that far exceed what is possible today. The research has aimed to complement advances in optoelectronic devices and supportive materials with innovative architectural designs that integrate these components according to system-wide application needs.
