TRANSIENT ELECTRONICS CATEGORIZATION

Abstract

Transient electronics is an emerging technology area that lacks proper definitions of what it means to be transient. The purpose of this technical report is to provide a background of the issues related to transient electronic systems and provide a categorization of transience modes to establish a common language for technologists and technology managers. The technical paper can be used as a background document for discussions and internal planning. The scope of this document is limited to the analysis of the technical issues (not solutions) that have influence on the design, fabrication and utilization of transient electronic systems.
