ENVIRONMENTAL AND ENERGY QUALITY TECHNOLOGIES Task Order 0005: Organic Finishing Technologies Sub Task 11: High Speed, Substrate Safe Specialty Coating Laser Stripping

Abstract

The objective of this Strategic Environmental Research and Development Program was to develop and evaluate environmentally friendly laser coating removal process for rapid and substrate-safe stripping of United States Air Force and Army specialty coatings. The efficacy of controlled coating removal, maximum temperatures realized by the underlying and surrounding substrates, speed of removal, and condition of remaining materials and surface were evaluated.
