The University of Nevada Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) May 2011 March 2015: Situational Reports (SITREPS)

Abstract

Documenting the history or activities of an organization can provide future researchers key insights into the organization. Army Lieutenant Colonel Michael F. Minaudo served as the Department Chair for Military Science at the University of Nevada, Reno from May 2011 until March2015. On a monthly basis a situational report or SITREP was provided to the Commander of the 8th Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) Brigade which was located at Fort Lewis Washington. The SITREP was not provided during the summer months due to the fact that most cadre and staff attended cadet summer training or "camp" during this time period. Preserving and publishing the SITREPS provides key primary documents for future researchers that are interested in exploring the mission and activities of the University of Nevada, Reno Army ROTC program. The collection was compiled in 2017 and several of the monthly SITREPs are no longer available which further strengthened the reason to preserve the information.
