Dipole Models for UXO Discrimination at Live Sites

Abstract

This Cost and Performance report focuses on data collected as part of the ESTCP live site demonstration at Spencer Range. We present dipole based classification applied to dynamic and cued data from both the TEMTADS 2x2 dynamic and MetalMapper. All performance metrics except two were met: for the MetalMapper (URS) dynamic data, reliable target parameters were estimated for only 92.1% due to the lack of data coverage at the edges of the survey area. The data acquired in the treed area by the TEMTADS 2x2 had a depth estimate error standard deviation of 13 cm due to ground clearance height variations. A cost analysis of these methods was completed.
