Abstract

This report summarizes SIGARs oversight work and updates developments in the four major sectors of Afghanistan's reconstruction effort from April 1 to June 30, 2017.* It also includes an essay on the challenge of conducting effective reconstruction oversight under seemingly unduly restrictive restraints on movement. During this reporting period, SIGAR published 16audits, inspections, reviews, and other products assessing the U.S. efforts to build the Afghan security forces, improve governance, facilitate economic and social development, and combat the sale and production of narcotics.
