Abstract

The Helmut-Schmidt-University is one of the two colleges in Germany dedicated to the scientific study and the academic education. It enhances the attractiveness of the officer's profession and, in addition, provides the impetus and power to the armed forces. Helmut-Schmidt-University fulfills its tasks through research, teaching and further education in the autonomy protected by the Trager and the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg. With its research infrastructure, it strengthens Hamburg as a location for science. It further develops the study and further education offer according to the state of the sciences as well as the need for executives in the military, economy and society.
