Engineering Evaluation and Assessment (EE and A) Report for the Symbolic and Sub-symbolic Robotics Intelligence Control System (SS-RICS)

Abstract

The US Army Research Laboratorys Human Research and Engineering Directorate has been developing a robotics control architecture called the Symbolic and Sub-symbolic Robotics Intelligence Control System (SS-RICS) since 2006. Since that time, SS-RICS has been the integration platform for many robotics algorithms using a variety of different disciplines from cognitive psychology, computer science, and artificial intelligence. The capabilities of SS-RICS are broad, and an Engineering Evaluation and Assessment was needed to test those operation capabilities in an empirical setting.
