Mitigation of Nonlinear Spurious Products using Least Mean-Square (LMS)

Abstract

This paper analyzes the performance of an iterative solution for the nonlinear correction of a digital array receiver channel. The iterative least mean-square (LMS) algorithm is compared to weighted least-squares (WLS) and its ability to adapt to changes in system temperature, and therefore nonlinear characteristics, is shown. Lastly, a digital array is simulated with nonlinear channels that represent a real system. The resulting intermodulation distortion (IMD) is then mitigated using theLMS correction method.
