Foreign Trip Report Paris and Nice, France and Bari, Italy -- Sept. 2013

Abstract

The primary two purposes of the trip were: 1. To participate in the first annual symposium of the LAPHIA Photonics Consortium in Bordeaux. (Aug 29-Sept 5, 2013)2. To present an invited paper at the EMSLIBS conference in Bari, Italy Sept 15- 20, 2013). The invited paper was on the subject of advanced methods of LIBS stand-off detection. This had been the central theme of the first ARO MURI we were awarded (2005 -2012, on femtosecond laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy science). We still have a strong continuing program in this area.
