Structural Scale Modeling and Experiments for Hypersonic Vehicles

Abstract

A fundamental and multifaceted approach toward improving the communities understanding of structural response in high-speed environments was devised. This includes careful spatial and temporal characterization of the driving force exerted by flow in the form of pressure and heating as well as the structural resistance characterized by deflections and temperatures.
