A Cell-Based Approach to Early Pancreatic Cancer Detection

Abstract

The goal of this proposal was to develop enhanced techniques for isolating and characterizing circulating epithelial cells (CECs) from the blood of mice or human patients with pancreatic cancer or premalignant lesions of the pancreas. Over the grant term, we succeeded in greater enrichment of CECs and analysis of their RNA cargo. This studies will enable future biomarker discovery efforts in cancer and pre-cancer of the pancreas.
