Towards Ultra Light Weight Hybrids, Foams and Green Bodies: Structure Property Relationships in Novel Polymer Grafted Nanoparticles

Abstract

Nanoparticles and their mixtures have emerged as critical technology enablers for a wide range of aerospace andcommercial applications, including pulsed power capacitors, body armor, multifunctional composites, active layersfor energy harvesting devices, and inks for printed flexible electronics and displays. In these applications, controlof nanoparticle arrangement and distribution in a polymer matrix is the most critical factor determining the finalprocessing and property suite.
