Bio-inspired Shape Memory Polymer Fiber Reinforced Thermosetting Polymer Composite for Self-healing Structural-length Scale Damage

Abstract

The objectives of this project are to understand the constitutive behavior of shape memory polymer (SMP) fibers and bio-inspired healing-on-demand mechanisms of SMP fiber reinforced conventional thermosetting polymer composites. We have achieved and exceeded the objectives.
