A Preliminary Investigation into DEOMI Training Effectiveness

Abstract

This manuscript summarizes several data sources regarding evaluation and performance of recent DEOMI graduates. Although ratings from commanders'/supervisors' evaluations are general positive, qualitative information regarding future areas for improvement is provided. Achievementof DEOMI trainees on selected EO content tests is also reported, and the majority of trainees demonstrate significant improvement in their knowledgebase upon graduation from the Institute. Recommendations are made for more systematic program evaluation within a conceptual model. Specificrecommendations are made regarding optimal and pragmatic methods for assessing DEOMI training impact.
