Alternative Plating Processes for Metal Electroplating Based on Ionic Liquids

Abstract

The objective of this proposal is to develop air and water stable ionic liquids and deepeutectic solvents (DES) for electrodeposition of aluminum that could address the Department of Defense ( DoD) life-cycle cost and environmental issues related to weapon systems. In this project, several approaches have been used to develop air and water-stable ionic liquids and DESs for electrodeposition of aluminum.
