Transcription as Sequencing -- TAS

Abstract

The objective of this program of research is the development of an inexpensive, self-assembling, mass producible platform for the rapid, sensitive and parallel sequencing of DNA via a sequencing by synthesis approach using optical output. There are multiple component goals for this project, or three major subobjectives: 1.)Development of the polymerase design necessary for this project and 2.) Development of methods for the generation of a self-assembling dipole antenna system appropriate for increasing the intensity of the output signal from single fluorophores and 3.) Contribute to the human scientific research infrastructure by providing in lab experience to students.
