Safety Considerations for UV-C LED Applications

Abstract

In this report, we calculate the ultraviolet (UV) exposure limits when working with incoherent artificial UV radiation sources designed for communication links at UV-C band. Limits for adjacent bands can be calculated based on the approach described. The results are obtained based on the regulations established by independent organizations, such as the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection, the International Electrotechnical Commission, and the International Labour Organization.
