PLOT - A Program to Plot Linear, Log, and Semi-Log Data to PC Computer Screens Pen Plotter and Laser Printers (U)

Abstract

'PLOT' is a utility program written in BASIC and compiled for quick execution on any IBM compatible personal computer. 'PLOT' will present up to six data curves in any rectilinear format such as linear, log-log, or semi-log format and the plot may be directed to either the computer screen, to a number of pen plotters, to a laser printer, or to a file. The program allows definition of a title, axis labels, a descriptive line of text on the plot, and curve legends. number of plot sizes, curve line types, plotting symbols, and grid line options are available. The data to be plotted may be in a wide range of formats, and data scaling and shifting options are available within the program. A formal plot option is also available in which a figure number and figure title may be defined and classification markings and a page number may be added. A report size plot is included which is specifically designed to fit on a reproduction layup sheet for printing. This report documents the program and distributes it for individual use.
