Virtual Recruit Tracker (VRT) and Delayed Entry Program (DEP) Management and Training Tool: Phase 1.0

Abstract

After completing an initial study of Virtual Recruiting, NAWCTSD proposed the development of a prototypical virtual recruit tracking and training tool (the VRT system) that will (1) provide Future Sailors with the necessary PQS training content (including fitness reporting) available to them in the DEP, (2) track their receipt and engagement with training information, and (3) validate continuous high-velocity learning while in the DEP.NAWCTSD constructed the Virtual Recruit Tracker as a prototype training and tracking application for an interactive DEP training environment. The goal is to increase Future Sailors likelihood of success throughout the DEP prior to entering recruit training. The VRT tool aims to achieve this by improving virtual recruiting efforts, enhancing applicable active recruiting, and ensuring that all Future Sailors remain engaged and are better informed and trained while in DEP. Specifically, it will ensure Future Sailors are introduced to entry-level training milestones such as the COs Top 6, The Sailors Creed, recruit training rules and offenses, necessary physical fitness preparation through self-reporting and possibly remote monitoring capabilities, and various Ready Relevant Learning (RRL) materials, such as Bystander Intervention.
