On the Development of Polymer/MXene Composites

Abstract

The objective of this 6 month proposal was to synthesis and characterize polymer/MXene composites. Here we chose to reinforce nylon-6 because it is an important polymer that was reinforced previously with another 2D material: clay. A major goal of the proposed work was to reinforce nylon-6 with small amounts (< 10 wt.%) of Ti3C2Tz MXene flakes. The characterization was to include DSC, TGA and tensile testing.
