Market-Based Control of Shipboard Integrated Engineering Plants

Abstract

In the project, market principles were formally applied to the development of a shipboard power system control method, explicitly linking the economic behavior of the actors in the system (the commanding officer and the equipment in the engineering plant) with the physical behavior of the equipment in the system. Contributions have been made in terms of modeling and simulation, the principles of market-based control for systems, including decision functions, equivalence with optimal control, and clearing algorithms, and evaluation of system value based on an optimal control problem.
