Ammunition Industrial Base Assessment Tool in Support of Public Law 105-261, Section 806: Procurement of Conventional Ammunition

Abstract

This project investigated the feasibility of establishing a standardized approach for evaluating procurements of conventional ammunition for potential limitation to the National Industrial and Technology Base (NTIB) that meets the intent of Public law 105-261, Section 806: Procurement of Conventional Ammunition and proposes a methodology to do so. The purpose is to decrease workload while increasing consistency in this process. The end result is an analysis tool and instructions to be used by personnel from the Joint Program Executive Office Armaments and Ammunition, the Joint Munitions Command and the Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center when performing industrial base analyses in support of the Procurement of Conventional Ammunition statute.
