2017 Reserve Component Spouses Survey: Tabulations of Responses

Abstract

This report contains tabulations of responses from the 2017 Survey of Reserve Component Spouses (2017 RCSS) conducted February 28, 2017 to July 7, 2017. The target population for the 2017 RCSS consisted of spouses of Reserve component members from the Selected Reserve in Reserve Unit, Active Guard/Reserve or Individual Mobilization Augmentee programs from the Army National Guard, U.S. Army Reserve, U.S. Navy Reserve, U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, Air National Guard, and U.S. Air Force Reserve who were below flag rank. In addition, for the spouse to remain eligible they must indicate that at the time of the survey they were currently married to a Reserve component member. The survey was subdivided into eleven topic areas: background information, spouse's activations/deployments, effect of deployments on children, activation/deployment expectations, feelings about the National Guard/Reserve, well-being, medical/dental coverage, internet communications, employment, Military OneSource, and survey participation.
