Development and Implementation of an Unsteady Force and Movement Measurement System into Hypersonic Wind Tunnel 9

Abstract

Dynamic force measurement methodologies were developed for potential use in AEDCs Hypervelocity Tunnel No. 9. They are the Time Domain Deconvolution Method (TDDM), Frequency Domain Inverse Method (FDIM) and Sum of Weighted Acceleration Technique (SWAT). The effectiveness of each method was validated both on numerical spring-mass-damper systems as well as on a test article in the Balance Calibration Laboratory at Tunnel 9.
