Coating Specification For Aircraft Maintenance Hangar: Misawa, Japan

Abstract

A hangar floor condition assessment in accordance to the Naval Facilities Engineering Service Centers (NFESC) Users Guide titled "Condition Assessment and Coating Recommendations for Aircraft Maintenance Hangars (UG - 2036 - SHR)" is required prior to coating the hangar. If the hangar's concrete has a "Smooth" surface texture, average rate of moisture vapor emission < 3.0 lbs/ 24 hrs, 1000 sq ft, and an average concrete surface strength > 200 psi, then the coating specification enclosed in Appendix A is appropriate for use in coating the hangar floor. Funding from NFESC's Demonstration/Validation (DEMVAL) program was used to perform all work associated with this effort.
