Operationalizing Artificial Intelligence for Multi-Domain Operations

Abstract

AI is fundamental to the future Joint Force realizing the full potential of MDO. AI-enabled systems offer the ability to outmaneuver adversaries across the domains, the EMS, and the information environment. The employment of these systems during competition allows the Joint Force to understand the operational environment in real time, and thus better employ capabilities to defeat threat operations meant to destabilize a region, deter escalation of violence, and turn denied space into contested spaces. This report initiates the Army's effort to operationalize AI by describing how the force employs AI solutions and related technologies across the MDO framework.
