Serious Analytical Gaming: The 360 deg Game for Multidimensional Analysis of Complex Problems

Abstract

This report describes the RAND Corporation's 360 deg Game, a "serious analytical game" developed in 2015 under Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) sponsorship to discover prospective solutions for an aspect of one of DARPA's enduring challenges - technology transition. The 360 deg Game has broad application for a wide spectrum of researchers, project leaders, and sponsors who are faced with complex, multifaceted problems that have not proven amenable to other analytical approaches. This report presents a tutorial for those interested in using this RAND analytical gaming tool.
