Brake Fluid Standardization for Anti-Lock Braking Systems (BFABS) Benchtop Testing Report

Abstract

This report describes experimental benchtop testing performed on 13 commercial available poly-glycol brake fluids (PBF) to evaluate their suitability for military ground vehicle use. This report is in support of the Brake Fluid Standardization for Anti-Lock Braking Systems (BFABS) project of the CCDC GVSC Ground Systems Fluids and Fuels (GSFF) research project. The objective of the BFABS project is to evaluate a series of PBF for use in ABS and define military-specific fluid requirements to safeguard Army ground vehicle brake systems in all operational environments.
