Live Site Demonstration of Advanced Geolocation Technology to Support Dynamic Classification of EMI Data Collect in GPS-challenged Areas

Abstract

The demonstrations performed at ARL - Blossom Point have delivered consistent performance. The AGT system was able to accurately geolocate the EMI platform in forested areas, where GNSS reception was not available or of poor quality, achieving about 30 cm at 95% CEP. A reacquisition test also showed excellent results, producing 20 cm at 95% CEP. Two prototypes were tested. Each worked well under typical field conditions and imposed very little extra effort and attention on the field crew, besides an increase in survey and data processing time. With amoderate effort engineering, the AGT system can be almost entirely integrated into the existing TEMTADS 2x2 system.
