The Role of Intellectual Property in U.S. Homeland Security

Abstract

This research report is part of a two-stage study for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate(S and T) on the departments approach to management of intellectual property (IP). S and T asked the Homeland Security Operational Analysis Center (HSOAC) to explore the connection between IP functions and missions of the department and its component agencies to document how and when IP supports, enhances, and otherwise provides essential elements of mission success.
