3D Technical Data Use in Procurement

Abstract

Technical data packages (TDPs) contain the foundational data used to manufacture, procure, and ensure the quality of Class IX parts. As engineering and manufacturing capabilities and techniques evolve and modernize, the format and content of TDPs must change as well. Over the last few decades, industry has been transitioning to computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing, which produce and rely on three-dimensional (3D) modelbased technical data.
