Microtox Toxicity Testing of the 1,3-dinitro-1,3-diazacyclohexane (DHP), 3,3-bis(3-nitro-1,2,4-oxadiazoly-4-yl)-5,5-bis-1,2,4-oxadiazole (LLM-200), methyl trinitropyrazol (MTNP), and 1-methyl-3,5-dinitro-1,2,4-triazole (DNMT)
Abstract
The energetic and toxicological properties of 1,3-dinitro-1,3-diazacyclohexane (DHP), 3,3-bis(3-nitro-1,2,4-oxadiazoly-4-yl)-5,5-bis-1,2,4-oxadiazole (LLM-200), methyl trinitropyrazol (MTNP), and 1-methyl-3,5-dinitro-1,2,4-triazole (DNMT) are being determined to support an evaluation of DHP, LLM-200, MTNP, and DNMT as a replacement for energetics in current use, such as hexahydro-1,3,5-trinitro-1,3,5-triazine (RDX) and trinitrotoluene (TNT). This study evaluated the aquatic toxicity of DHP, LLM-200, MTNP, and DNMT with a bioluminescent bacterial aquatic toxicity test in order to make environment and health-based decisions regarding the selection of formulas and materials for further development.
