Simulating High-Speed Objects with LEDs

Abstract

This report presents a method of simulating high-speed objects with LEDs. Several LED circuits are investigated to determine which one can simulate the fastest speed, and the Adafruit DotStars are chosen. To provide the necessary timing for simulating high-speed objects, a novel algorithm is presented on how to produce fast timing signals for the DotStars. This algorithm is not available in the included Adafruit library that comes with the LED strip due to limitations of using the Arduino framework.
