Pricing Of Noncompetitive Contracts Subject To The Truth In Negotiations Act

Abstract

Generally, Department of Defense procurement staff are effectively carrying out the system established for pricing noncompetitive contracts. However, some contracts still are overpriced. GAO's review of 28 noncompetitive prime contracts and subcontracts valued at about$400 million indicated they were overpriced by about $22 million. Procurement personnel are usually responsive to GAO recommendations for corrective action.
