Manufacturing Cyber Security Workforce and Career Development Framework

Abstract

Our framework establishes the "now and next" view of the critical work required of cybersecurity workings in business and technical areas of manufacturing; it also profiles what value those roles bring to the manufacturing enterprise and ecosystem. The taxonomy work leverages and learns from the National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST) and National Initiative for Cyber Education (NICE) frameworks and other cyber workforce research most from the government arena, since many of those are essential and relevant yet there is a need to represent the legacy of production, and the future practices and potentials of modern manufacturing.
