Abstract

This report responds to your concerns about the recent thefts involving the Department of Defenses inventory. In this regard, you asked us to examine the inventorys vulnerability to theft and the Departments implementation of physical inventory controls, in-transit controls, and physical security measures designed to safeguard assets and detect theft.
