Discontinuous Petrov Galerkin (DPG) Solvers for Maxwell Equations and Related Wave Propagation Problems

Abstract

The primary goal of this project is to build fast tools for simulating optical ber amplifiers and apply them to enhance our understanding of Transverse Mode Instability (TMI). TMI is currently the main roadblock preventing further power scaling of ber amplifier.
