Data for Healthy Insights - Achieving a Culture of Health Through Big Data and Analytics

Abstract

South Carolina trails the rest of the nation in overall health. With high rates of obesity, Heart disease, and diabetes, South Carolinians live sicker, shorter lives than their peers in other states. Poor health has many negative societal impacts, such as detracting from students ability to pay attention in class and a workers ability to perform on the job, which in turn, hurts the productivity essential for generating the resources and opportunities that empower people to lead healthy, fulfilling lives.
