Optimized Tracking of Low Thrust Orbit Raising Maneuvers

Abstract

Orbit determination of Resident Space Objects (RSOs) is a fundamental step to ensure effective Space Situational Awareness (SSA).A particular scenario of interest concerns the transfer of a satellite from a Low Earth Orbit (LEO) to a Geostationary Earth Orbit(GEO). In this project we have developed an Geo Transfer Orbit (GTO) tracker that optimizes the use of sensors on the ground byminimizing their number and therefore the tracking operation cost.
