Roles of Lymphatic Vessels in Cardiac Tissue Regeneration

Abstract

Heart failure is the leading cause of death in the US and globally. There is a pressing need for novel therapeutic interventions to prevent heart failure in patients with coronary heart diseases. Tissue regeneration holds great promise of treating organ injures and chronic diseases, including coronary heart disease. We proposed to investigate the roles of cardiac lymphatic vessels in revascularization and immune modulation, two processes important for heart regeneration.
