Human Head Impact Dose Concussion Risk Functions and Sensor Based Military-Specific Environmental Monitoring System

Abstract

Study Aims: (1) Quantify head impacts across a variety of contact sports and activities using an Impact Monitoring Mouthguard (IMM) system. (2) Quantify a dose relationship between head impacts and changes in clinical assessments in non-concussed individuals. (3) Correlate head impact exposure with the onset and severity of concussion. (4) Quantify laboratory performance of IMM system under military conditions.
