Micro Air Vehicle Scouts for Inventory Management and Situational Awareness

Abstract

In the i-Corps project we explored what commercialization opportunities exist for the research developed in a project on autonomous scouting with drones (sponsored by ONR). Three of Sebastian Scherers students and he participated in a session of the program from January-March 2019. In that program (as well as before and after) the team formulated various business hypothesis, interviewed potential customers, formulated potential solutions, and attend relevant conferences. This process lead to the discovery that there is a large potential market for warehouse inventory management and current management solutions are expensive and complex. After the i-Corps project a company was founded and incorporated. The initial name of the company was Nabla Ascent and later changed names to gather.ai. (http://gather.ai) and iscurrently successfully operating with VC investment.
