High-Resolution Beamforming Techniques Performance Analysis

Abstract

The resolution performance of conventional beamforming techniques is limited by the length of the array (i.e. the array aperture). Therefore high-resolution beamforming techniques may be achieved only by extrapolating the measurements (or some function of them) beyond this array aperture.
