Reacting to an Improvised Explosive Device (IED)

Abstract

Another morning in eastern Afghanistan and we begin yet another patrol, but at least we are heading back to the firebase, our home away from home. Once we finally get started, things are going well; commo is working, weapons are running and our bellies are full. Were still early in the movement and BOOM! Everything is different now. This experience changes lifestyles and the way we look at life. Well cover some of the changes between the lines of the following pages.
