Evaluation of Recombinant Antibodies Produced in the Expi293 and ExpiCHO (Thermo) Expression Systems for Use in Immunoassays

Abstract

Recombinant thermostable antibodies against the MS2 virus and botulinum neurotoxin A (Bot A) hemagglutinin 33 (HA33) were produced in large scale using transient transfections in mammalian cell lines. After validation of immunoglobulin G binding activity and thermostability was completed, antibodies were assessed for suitability of toxin detection immunoassays with recombinant protein and Bot A toxoid targets on the MAGPIX (Luminex Corporation; Austin, TX) platform.
