Increased Use of Computer-Output-Microfilm by Federal Agencies Could Result in Savings

Abstract

Computer-Output-Microfilm (COM) is a technology enabling the output of computers to be recorded directly on microfilm rather than on paper. GAO made this review to study COM use by Federal agencies, to determine whether COM could improve the efficiency and economy of computerized information systems, and to explore service centers as a means of providing COM services.
